Recently, Twitter CEO and one of the founders Jack Dorsey announced he’s stepping down decision from the CEO position. Jack Dorcey was in the CEO position from the start. The announcement stated that he will be stepping down from the CEO position with an immediate effect. Whereas company’s CTO Indian Origin Parag Agrawal is Now New CEO of Twitter.
Jack Dorsey was serving as CEO of Twitter as well as his payment firm Square. Dorsey will remain a member of the Board until his term expires at the 2022 meeting of stockholders, the company said.
Parag Agrawal new CEO of Twitter
Parag Agrawal the new CEO of Twitter having Indian origin has studied at IIT Bombay. Also, he has been working with Twitter for more than a decade. Parag Agrawal was in the CTO position from 2017.
Agrawal joined the company in October 2011 and held several positions at the company most recently including “Distinguished Software Engineer”. Parag Agrawal also held leadership positions at Yahoo and Microsoft before joining Twitter in 2011.
Earlier, Twitter shareholder Elliot sought to replace Jack Dorsey that he whether he should be running both companies, he should step down from the one. So now Jack Dorsey will be handling the Square payment firm.
“I’ve decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders”.

Dorsey co-founded the social media giant in 2006 served as CEO till 2008 before getting pushed out of the role. Later he joined the CEO position in 2015 after former CEO Dick Costolo stepped down. It will be a big challenge for Parag Agrawal to handle such a big role.
