The body vitals measurement is crucial nowadays. The rising prices of oximeters is already known to all especially in India. Earlier, I posted an article about how you can measure SPO2 with Samsung smartphones. I searched about it a little and found one app known as Careplix Vitals app. You can monitor body vitals using smartphones camera with Careplix vitals app. It has been developed by careplix healthcare US and CareNow healthcare India.
I have been looking for this kind of apps but also was not sure of its accuracy. Obviously, you should not consider these measurements as the real value according to medical standards. But it can give your almost close reading as the Oximeters. The careplix vitals app has a subscription but due to the 2nd wave of the covid outbreak, they are providing unlimited vitals scans for free.
Monitor body vitals using smartphones with this app gave close readings. It can measure SPO2 (blood oxygen levels), heartrate and respiration rate. So, you will know the 3 major body vitals measurement with this app itself.
CarePlix Vitals App
After I found this app I had to check about its credibility. So, on their website the app is developed by careplix healthcare US and CareNow healthcare India. Also, they have some credible sources which the working of this app can be verified. The articles regarding the same are written in Dailyhunt, ABP and lots of other news portals.
Also, some videos of doctors showing off the same are available. Though they don’t have that many videos on their Youtube channel. You can check the above video that shows they performed clinical trials at Kolkata on 300+ participants. So, this app surely has credibility and sources to verify its working. How To Monitor Body Vitals Using Smartphones
1) So, firstly you will need to download the Careplix app from the above downloads section.
2) Install the app, it will ask you to register so register with all the details required in the form.
3) Now after you register you will see the main screen as shown in the first screenshot below. After that just click on scan vitals, it will show you how to scan it. Your camera flash will lit up and you will need to hold your finger on-camera flash. It will start to calibrate and real calculation will start.

4) Now just hold your finger on the flash till the calculation completes. Stay still and let the process complete. It will calculate the blood oxygen levels first, then heart rate and lastly respiration rate. Check the below screenshots I got these readings.
That’s it, this is how you can monitor body vitals using smartphones. Again, don’t consider these readings for accuracy they are accurate but I can’t recommend it. You can use this as just calculating the vitals on the go.
NOTE- In some smartphones, the LED flash will heat up and the finger may feel burning. So, leave that smartphone and try it on another smartphone. I had checked it on LG G8X the smartphone heated up but on the Lenovo, I didn’t experience any issues.
