The all-new sub-brand of Chinese Giant mobile brand Xiaomi Poco has launched their first mobile. They named it as Xiaomi Poco F1. That weird name though but as you know all specifications of this smartphone and they are just crazy for the price. Poco F1 or PocoPhone F1 has redefined the mid-range smartphone competition. Just earlier Honor with Kirin 970 flagship processor was launched. Now Xiaomi Launched Poco with Snapdragon 845 processor at 20K (300$) price. I used this device for almost a week now though I didn’t capture much of the pictures I will upload all camera pictures to Google Drive for your ease. So let’s start Full In-Depth Xiaomi Poco F1 Review After A Complete Week Usage.
Xiaomi Poco F1 Review:
Design And Display:
The Poco F1 has a plastic polycarbonate back panel and has a really conventional design. Its nothing new and build is purely polycarbonate. No metal or glass back available. The higher version is a kevlar back version. But I recommend you to buy 6GB 64GB version only as its worth every single penny. I have 6GB 64GB black variant. The design is not good the build is plastic. It’s not worsted as all reviewers were saying. It’s good for this price. They provided a high-quality case to hide the plastic back and it does the job. The polycarbonate has its own advantages and disadvantages. But Xiaomi provided liquid cooling tech and this just works really well. But the users who only like the build quality and design might get disappointed a bit. In my case, I wasn’t disappointed at all. The plastic polycarbonate back looks good and no one even noticed that plastic back.
The Xiaomi Poco F1 has 6.18 inches display. It has an aspect ratio of 18:7:9. Yes, it has the notch, its really big and ugly notch. In the case of Poco F1 because of the infrared sensor on the front the notch size gets bigger. The display is IPS LCD display and it looks good.
It has the gorilla glass 3 protection. So its better to keep the tempered glass and back cover protection. Overall the display colors are vibrant and really looks good even in daylight conditions. No complaints at all on display.
Performance and Battery life:
The main highlight of Pocophone F1 is the flagship grade Snapdragon 845 processor. It’s Snapdragon 845 same like Galaxy Note 9 and Oneplus 6. Performance is awesome. This device got a score in ANTUTU benchmarks sees the screenshot below. There is no sign of lag or even minor lags. PocoPhone F1 runs buttery smooth. Coupled with 6GB of RAM (base variant) no background apps were killed. This phone has truly a raw power of Snapdragon 845. One more thing to add it has liquid cooling even some flagship smartphones doesn’t have this feature. Liquid cooling works too good. I played PubG and even Asphalt 9 legends this phone doesn’t break a sweat. Not even a high-temperature heating. I Played PubG almost 2-3 hours and temperature didn’t go above 37 degrees.
Poco F1 has the massive battery of 4000mAh capacity and it lasts 2 days for normal usage. It gave me about 6-7 hours of screen on time. I played NFS No limits and watched Netflix and other stuff.
Camera Performance Xiaomi Poco F1 Review:
I thought the camera will not be up to mark. But Xiaomi didn’t cut down the camera department for price cutting. It has the same sensor as MI 8 that is Sony IMX 363 sensor. The rear camera is 12+5 Megapixels camera supporting the same sensor as MI 8 which has DXO score of 99. The rear camera is really surprising and more surprising with google camera. I have used Honor Play, MI A2 but Poco F1 clearly wins this round. You will surely like the camera on this phone. Portraits, Bokeh effects are good and edge detection is awesome. I can say it the best camera you will get under 21K price segment. The rear camera supports EIS it lacks OIS but its fine. No shuttering have occurred during recording. But in 4K video recording, it shutters a little.
The secondary selfie camera is of 20MP. It also pretty much surprised me the edge detection and bokeh effect is just too good. I will post more pictures with both the camera very soon. In simple words, you will be much satisfied with the camera you are getting at this price range with almost flagship type features.
Xiaomi Poco F1 Review Software and Other Features:
PocoPhone F1 has Xiaomi’s official skin MIUI. But this time it’s a little diffrent. Xiaomi introduced new Poco launcher which has some more features and functions which sets it apart from other MIUI mobiles. Still, its based on MIUI so updates will be from MIUI. Poco launcher has much more features like auto-categorized apps, Categorize based on apps, gesture controls, full view control hide notch etc. Personally, I don’t like MIUI but this launcher kept me engaging with the phone.
Connectivity:
The Poco F1 supports Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 802.11 like other phones. It supports dual VOLTE feature. That is both the SIM can run on 4G VOLTE network simultaneously. F1 has 4G+ feature which allows it to use 800Mhz as well as 2300Mhz bands. I used this device as my primary device and there was no issue of cellular signals, call quality. It’s all good nothing to complain.
the PocoPhone F1 has dual stereo speaker setup, well its technically dual speakers. But it’s not, the main speaker is at the bottom and another speaker is the earpiece. The sound from the earpiece is almost 20% of the total volume. So if you are looking for dual speakers setup well you will be a bit disappointed. Besides I used Boat, JBL earphones, and sound quality is awesome not like 5Z but its good. The headphone modes provided are really best. They worked really well. Firstly I noticed just flat sound but after enabling the headphone effects the sound quality from earphones was really good.
Final Words Xiaomi Poco F1 review:
The Xiaomi Poco F1 is surely banging for buck device. If you want a budget device with a raw power and flagship grade specifications you will surely like this device. You have to somewhat compromise on the build quality. But at this price point of 21K (300$) its the best you can get at this time. Snapdragon 845, 4000mAh battery, liquid cooling, impressive camera are the features which make the Poco F1 bang for buck device. So this was the Xiaomi Poco F1 review.
